Elections for a change 2014, India wins!

Past over one year, I have been repeatedly asked about Indian elections and who will win? One name that is often mentioned by the people that questioned me is Mr Modi.

My response has been that M/s Modi, Kejriwal, Rahul are a catalyst for a change, a change that helps India win, a win that Indians deserves!

In my view the 2014 political drama has also seen the best of political strategy, conventional and social media in action, good speeches to create awareness of change and draw them out to vote. 2014 elections also appear to be precursor to the change in political system in coming years, the rejuvenation of leadership stock and the need for the political parties to deliver on the changing needs of India and Indians.

My recent India experience been that political leadership and actions of political system (Indian elections results) has been major influencing factor on change in regulations and business environment and the Indian economy; consumer confidence, growth outlook, stock markets, foreign exchange, the bureaucracy, FDI, and trade patters with partners, and the business environment. The past four years have been awful for the economy, business, society and the people. The most talented economist and a powerful head of India was muted and fatally wounded by the Indian political system, businessmen were dragged to courts, licences were cancelled, bans were imposed on mining or import of gas that made many industries sick, tax demands were imposed, unemployment and inflation has been higher, infrastructure and urban development has been slowed or stalled..... the story goes on and on and so as life in India.

India has changed so much past many years, majority of Indian’s live in an urban society or enjoy urban goods like cars, TV, cell phones, consumer products, educated urban young take secularism as a given, inter-caste, cross country and religion marriages are common, people from North or South, East or West work and live together, major cities are becoming a potpourri of cultures, urban infrastructure is growing, people realize that education and urbanization is a ticket for a successful life, intra-India tourism is on the rise, English and Hindi is widely spoken all over India, Indian and MNC corporates are uniting India economically, those born in South are living in North and vice versa……. all these are a given!

Indians are demanding a better life for themselves, a boost in their economic and business sentiment, promising social and economic infrastructure development, a good job, good home, water, food and environment.  All these will require the new incumbent to change laws and think of bettering a life of the Indians. Frankly, for many years political system has had overbearing on India and Indians but life still continues but after 2014 political system and approach better change or the people will vote and weed out the leadership.

It does not matter who head the government change for the better is inevitable, the ultimate winner will have to be India and its people!
