India’s saffron spring! An invaluable and powerful political mandate along with a valuable lesson!

While living and doing business in India for 3 years I had the opportunity to engage and interact with senior business leaders, managers, bankers, heads of chambers of commerce, lawyers, and bureaucrats on various economic and business matters, regulatory approvals and the various trends in India. I also recently wriote on "Elections for a change: India wins!". I have followed the 2014 elections closely and will follow through all the changes and developments taking place in India as I believe that India is emerging into a powerhouse of people, talent, culture, business, democracy, growth and development which in a global context cannot be ignored.

Congratulations to Mr Modi, a self made success story with humble beginnings, for being crowned the Prime Minister of India supported by a strong majority at the parliament; the responsibility is heavy as the crown.

The 2014 democratic process proved the strength of people's vote. People voted an obscure politician (with an unproven non secular record) with humble beginning and his long forgotten political party to power. People delivered a strong verdict; Indian’s for a change, India for a change - India wins !  With the verdict is an invaluable and powerful political mandate along with a valuable lesson in governance and politics!

Caste, creed, religion, dynasty, and family history did not matter, what mattered to the voters was the credentials and competency to deliver results; a thinking a reflection of a resurgent, smart and enlightened Indians which can be compared to a smart investor in a highly developed capitalist country!

Indian elections have taken many local and international political analyst, politicians and people by surprise as Indians delivered their powerful verdict for change that ensures a better future via good governance that focuses on socio-economic growth and development, elimination of corruption, self-respect, peace and secularism, inclusive growth, and a good life!

2014 Indian elections will be closely analysed and reviewed by international and local political analyst and politicians. The key question that will be repeatedly asked 'Was this election of the people, by the people and for the people!'  if affirmative then successive governments will have to serve the people! There will be sense of realisation in the end that the people’s votes are powerful, power of people’s vote, their voice and changes cannot be ignored, ineffective and corrupt leaders will be sacked – there will be no mercy for failures or corrupt nor dynasties, people appreciate and bestow powers to high performers, social media and information technology will play a major role, the way the country governs and works will be different as change is inevitable, and there will be little room for divisive and partisan politics.

The saffron spring has borne flowers but the harvest picks will be difficult; if managed and marketed well then the harvest will be very valuable for India!

Let us all pray, hope and work to realise the dreams of India with that of Mr Modi.  The victory party is not over until the change is achieved; now is the time for the people, political party, government and PM to get the good and dirty work done, harvest and market the saffron. If Modinomics and Modgovernance works well then it will leave a powerful legacy in the history and future of India.
